Creating PDF Links

A pdf link is useful when wanting to include articles or newsletters on your website while keeping them in their original format. 

Create and Upload pdf to the Media Manager 

  1. Create a pdf file and save it on your computer.
  2. Open your administration site and go to Site < Media Manager
  3. Click on the 'Stories' folder
  4. Create a folder within the stories folder by typing a one word name into the 'Create Directory' bar at the top right of the window.
  5. Click the 'Create' button 
  6. Open the new folder you created by clicking on it.
  7. Click the 'Browse' button to browse your computer for the pdf file your previously saved.
  8. Upload the file.

Insert pdf link into content item.

  1. From the control panel in your administration site, go to the content item or module where you want to insert the pdf link.
  2. Type in text or insert an image that you want your viewers to click on to take them to the pdf link.
  3. Hilight or select that text or image.
  4. Click on the 'Insert File Link' picture 3icon. (It is on the bottom row of the tool bar)
  5. A dialog box will display all of the files in the Stories folder and folders within the Stories folder.
  6. Choose the pdf from the folder you created.
  7. Click the 'Insert' button.
  8. Click the 'Save' button at the top right of the page.
You have now created a link to your pdf.   Go to the front end of your site, refresh the page and check your link.
