Page Links and Web Links

Page Links:

You may want to link a word or words in a content item to another page on your site or another web-site.

1.  To link to a page on your website: 

Go to the page on your website (front end) you want to link to.

From the url (address bar) at the top of the page, copy the portion of the url after the .com/ (net/,org/) 

Go to the content item in the back end, in which you want to create a link.

Hi-light a word or words in your content item you wish to link.Click the  button in your text editing tools on top of the text box.

Paste the url you copied into the url bar. 

Click on the insert tab. Click OK when prompted.  The text will now show in another color to indicate your link has been created.

2.  To link to another website:

 
Go to the website you want to link to.

From the url (address bar) at the top of the page, copy the entire url.

Go to the content item in the back end, in which you want to create a link.

Hi-light a word or words in your content item you wish to link.Click the  button in your text editing tools on top of the text box.

Click the  button in your text editing tools on top of the text box.

Paste the url you copied into the url bar. 

Click on the insert tab. Click OK when prompted.  The text will now show in another color to indicate your link has been created.

 

Go to your front end.  Refresh your window.  When you click on the text, you will be taken to the linked page.

If you wish to break the link, select the linked text/image and click on the  .  

Weblinks:

If you have a number of related web-sites that you would like to refer your visitors to, you may wish to set up a menu item with weblinks.  See the tutorial, Using the Weblinks Component for further instructions.
