RSGallery2  Audio

Before adding this audio feature to your site, please This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  We will ensure your site has the appropriate component and extensions installed to utilize this feature.

Recording Audio Files

Files uploaded to this component are required to be in MP3 format and should be approximately 20 - 25 MB in size.

NOTE: The MP3 file must be encoded at 44.1 kHz, or 22.05 kHz, or 11.025 kHZ; any other sampling rate will result in the "chipmunk effect," which you really would not like.)

Save MP3 files on your computer, then proceed to upload files to the component:

1.Login to your administration site.

2.Go to Components < RSGallery2 < Manage Galleries

3.Create a gallery exclusively for your audio files.  If you already have a gallery for audio files, skip to #5.

a) Click the 'New' button.
b) Type in a name for your gallery, and a description of your gallery if desired.
c) Click the 'Save' button.

4.Change the order in which your gallery appears if desired and publish the gallery.

5.Go back to the RSGallery2 Control Panel.

6.Click 'Upload' button.

7.Select the gallery you created for your audio files.

8.Type in a name for your audio file and a description of the file.

9.Browse for your MP3.

10.Click to add more files if desired.

11.When finished adding files, click the 'Upload' button.  Uploading may take some time depending on the file sizes.  Please be patient.

12.Go back to the Gallery Manager showing the listing of galleries.

13.Note the gallery ID # from the left hand column.

At this point you must create a link for your component so it will show on the front end of your site.  There are several options available:

1. Create a direct Menu link to your audio feature by creating a new url menu link.

The url used to create your link is:  /index.php?option=com_rsgallery2&rsgTemplate=xspf&gid=1

Important:  replace the last number in the above url with the the id # of the gallery you created in RSGallery2.

2. Create a new content item or static content item  or use an existing Content Item. Then insert the link into the content item using the insert link tool.

4. Create a module into which you insert the link into the module content

using the insert link tool.

To add additional mp3 files to your audio gallery at a later date, start at step 5 above.
